As we approach the end of November, we would like to share with you an update on the Refugee Reference Group (RRG) appointment ceremony held on November 23.

Appointment Ceremony for the Refugee Reference Group (RRG)

On Saturday, November 23, the appointment ceremony for the Refugee Reference Group (RRG) was held. The KRF Preparatory Committee officially delivered the letter of appointment to RRG members and expressed its commitment to working together to reflect more refugees’ voices in refugee policies, support programs, and public discussions in Korea.  

In addition to the appointment ceremony, RRG members attended the training session on “Meaningful Refugee Participation” by Anila Noor, founder of New Women Connectors. The lecture introduced refugee participation in international society and the guidelines that RRG can draw on in its future activities. The following discussion among RRG members developed the session into a conversation connecting each participant’s experiences and perspectives.

This training session marked a moment of collaboration, during which RRG members began to understand one another and their roles as a refugee reference group.  

The Korea Refugee Forum is a space where refugee voices connect with those of a wide range of stakeholders, and where dialogues and solidarity emerge from diverse yet interconnected perspectives. RRG will continue moving forward with the Korea Refugee Forum 2025.
